Construction Of Two-Acre Recreational Village Nears Completion At Brookfield Homes Hawai‘I’s Kamilo At Mauna Lani
Brookfield Homes Hawai‘i is nearing another major milestone at its KaMilo at Mauna Lani neighborhood on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island, with the scheduled completion of its two-acre recreational village slated for this summer. Offering a resort within a resort, the recreational village will feature a gathering hale, fitness hale, sand beach family pool, adult lap pool, two spas and garden retreat. The private enclave will be available to all residents of the community’s 137 homes.
“We are extremely proud of the recreational village at KaMilo,” said Jeffrey Prostor, president of Brookfield Homes Hawai‘i. “We spent over $4 million to create a spectacular amenity that will not only become a showcase for the community but will also provide homeowners with resort quality all-inclusive living.”
At the center of the recreational village is the Gathering Hale, which complements KaMilo at Mauna Lani’s unique sense of place, with its Hawaiiana style that incorporates high-pitched ceilings and open-air design. Features of the Gathering Hale include a full food preparation counter, barbeque and night-lighting.. The venue is great for informal gatherings as well as opulent festivities.
Specifically designed for active adults the fitness hale includes cardio and strength training equipment as well as locker rooms, restrooms, and interior and exterior showers. Residents will enjoy using the fitness hale and diving into the adult use pool for a few refreshing laps or ending their workout mediating or doing yoga in the garden hale. The recreational village also features a family lagoon pool with a large deck for children to play safely as well as lounge chairs and cabanas for sunbathers.
Located within the world-famous Mauna Lani Resort on the Kohala Coast of the Big Island, KaMilo is a private, gated enclave with a mix of single-family and paired homes that is being built in partnership with A&B Properties, Inc., the real estate subsidiary of Alexander & Baldwin, Inc. The neighborhood has been carefully planned to capture magnificent golf course and mountain views with select sites catching glimpses of the Pacific Ocean. Homes start in the $700,000s.
In addition to full use of the two-acre recreational village, residents will also automatically become members of the Mauna Lani Advantage Program, which provides access to the exclusive beach club, discounted golf on the resort’s two championship courses, discounts on hotel services and other
distinctive benefits.
