Brookfield’s Successful Holomua Education
Program Triples in 2007

HONOLULU (January 4, 2007) – Teachers and nearly 100 students at Wahiawa Middle School went on a field trip to a taro patch in Haleiwa and got much needed classroom equipment and school supplies, all thanks to the generosity of developer Brookfield Homes Hawai’i and its employees.

“Brookfield Homes Hawai’i strongly believes in supporting the educational efforts of teachers across the islands, and in preserving the unique history and culture of Hawai’i,” said Jeffrey Prostor, president of Brookfield Homes Hawai’i.  “For every dollar donated by an employee, we then tripled that amount to underwrite the cost of the students’ field trip.  Because we surpassed the initial fund raising goal, Brookfield Homes was able to also provide a printer, disposable cameras, and other necessary school supplies to Wahiawa Middle School.”

Brookfield Homes Hawai’i also supports Hawai’i schools through its Holomua education program, which grants the wishes of teachers at select schools located near its various neighborhoods.
